Foz do Iguaçu is also rich in cultural diversity. A good example is the Buddhist Temple, located near the Paraná River.
Built in 1996, the site has an impeccable architecture and a large garden featuring 120 identical statues, positioned and aligned side by side, facing the sunset. Each statue represents Buddha’s reincarnation on Earth.
Inside the temple visitors find bigger statues, supported by replicas of dragons and elephants, whose purpose is to protect the Buddhas. The main temple covers 2.5 million square meters of a two story building, featuring five large sculptures such as The Great Vow, The Supreme Bliss, The Master of Medicine, The Great Compassion and the “Sakyamun”. This tour is the right choice for those who like to learn about different cultures.
